Newcastle University Dentistry Summer School

Our residential Summer School is for year 12 students who meet certain eligibility criteria and are interested in studying Dentistry. It will take place on our campus in Newcastle and will run from Tuesday 7th-Friday 10th July 2026. Summer School students will have the opportunity to experience life as Dental student at Newcastle, attending application workshops, taster lectures, clinical sessions and social activities.

Applications are now open and will close on 8 March 2026.

About this summer school

Summer School students will have the opportunity to experience life as a dental student at Newcastle, attending application workshops, taster lectures and clinical sessions, working on a group project, as well hearing from academics and clinicians to find out about careers in dentistry.

Students on the Summer School will have the opportunity to talk to current dental students to find out about the application process and life as a student at Newcastle.

You will take part in social activities and stay in our halls of residence, right on campus, to get a real taste of what being a student is really like!

MSC Summer School programmes are open to students in Year 12 in England from underrepresented backgrounds, particularly those from areas with limited outreach to medical schools.
