Find practice materials to support your revision for the UK Medical School Applied Knowledge Test (MS AKT).
These resources are specifically designed for UK medical students. The General Medical Council can provide information on the PLAB for international medical graduates.
A suite of practice papers is available to help medical students prepare for the UK Medical School Applied Knowledge Test (MS AKT).
The MS AKT Exam Board has put together a 200-item practice exam (2 x 100 item papers) to help students prepare for the UK Medical School AKT. Blueprinted to the MLA Content Map, this exam has been designed to reflect the style and type of question that you will encounter in the AKT. The practice exam is in PDF form and comes with and without the answer options.
These materials were last reviewed in September 2025.
Please note that while these short practice papers reflect the style and type of questions that students will encounter in the MS AKT, they are not blueprinted to the MLA Content Map. Previously these papers were only in Exam-Write to help staff prepare for online delivery and help students become familiar with the features of the platform. They are now also available below, with and without correct answers and justifications, to provide students with access to practice items regardless of whether their school delivers them online.
These materials were developed with the support of UK medical schools and input from the AKT Exam Board, to serve as a valuable resource for students. If you have questions about the clinical content of the exam, please contact the Assessment Lead at your medical school.
