MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, Southampton General Hospital

Situated within one of the UK’s leading research Universities, the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit offers superb facilities for research and education. Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow to join an established team of musculoskeletal researchers based at the Unit. The particular focus of the work will be to develop and carry out personal research into the role of early life vitamin D exposure in growth and bone development, and the use of vitamin D supplementation in pregnancy.

You will be medically qualified with an interest in research and experience in a related clinical field (for example, but not limited to, paediatrics, obstetrics, rheumatology, public health).

The post is a fixed-term contract for 2 years.

The appointed candidate will be expected to register for the Doctor of Medicine (DM) programme at the University of Southampton. Student fees will be paid for a candidate eligible for UK (home) fees; an international student would be required to self-fund the additional fees (details available at Postgraduate tuition fees | University of Southampton).

Salary at appointment will depend on clinical experience.

Please note: Successful applicants will be appointed to a different salary range (£39,260 to £53,103) if they were at ST3 on or before 2 August 2016.
