We are seeking an enthusiastic research nurse to work within a research team conducting a feasibility study on diagnosing urinary tract infections in care homes. The study is looking at new ways of diagnosing urinary tract infections, including evaluating novel biomarkers. You will work as part of a research team based at the University of Southampton and as part of a wider study team with researchers based at the University of Oxford and University of Bristol. You will also work with care home sites and the NIHR Clinical Research Network to deliver the study in care homes in Wessex. You will be line-managed by Prof Nick Francis (Co-Chief Investigator).

The study is funded by the National Institute for Health School for Primary Care Research. This post is offered part-time for 12 months from January 2023.

You will be a Registered Nurse with experience of undertaking research and an understanding of research clinical governance and regulatory requirements. You will be able to work independently and possess excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.  Excellent communication and IT skills, and attention to detail, are also required. Experience of working in a care home setting is desirable.
