The Medical Schools Council has developed internal ED&I policies to support members of council and associated committees. These include:
- The development of a welcome pack for new members with information on current members, staff and work undertaken by the organisation. This welcome pack is also available as a general Introduction to the Medical Schools Council
- Equality and diversity is a standing item on the agenda of council meetings
- A bullying and harassment policy and a code of conduct have been developed
- New attendees of Council can be buddied by a member of the Executive Committee for their first three meetings
- Guidance on unconscious bias is available for attendees of Council and associated committees
- A safeguarding policy is in place to protect any children, young persons or adults in vulnerable circumstances who come into contact with MSC staff members
