Applications are invited for a Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, School of Human Development and Health

The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a tenure position as Associate Professor of Medicine for Older People. This post will be within the School of Human Development and Health based on the Southampton General Hospital campus. This appointment will strengthen research in the field of Medicine for Older People.   The post-holder will have an established record of research and publication and will be expected to develop their own programme of research; relevant areas include research into identification, prevention and treatment of sarcopenia and frailty and on reducing the impact of sarcopenia and frailty on patient wellbeing and the health, clinical and social impacts. The appointee will provide leadership within the NIHR BRC and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) and contribute to the academic leadership within the Faculty and School, enhancing the quality of our research, enterprise and education.   

Clinical duties will fall within the existing practice of the Medicine for Older People Department in University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust
