Professor/Honorary Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

We are seeking a high calibre clinician scientist (Respiratory Medicine), possessing full GMC registration and a licence to practice to undertake academic and clinical delivery.  

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians who have been brought together within the Respiratory Sciences research team and Leicester Institute for Lung Health (ILH), (http://www2.le.ac.uk/institution/ilh/introduction). The group has a national and international reputation in translational research and respiratory research forms part of the Leicester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.   

You will have a research profile of well-established national/international standing and be a significant research income generator able to enhance impact activity and develop a programme of high quality research which it is anticipated will be in airways disease with a focus on asthma, however expressions of interest in other areas of respiratory research are welcomed.  

Appointees will collaborate with, and supervise others, in producing innovative research with a major influence on the discipline and making a significant contribution to the College's research and teaching strategies.   Appointees will be contributors to the University’s REF return, or equivalent; be a significant generator of research income and supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate researchers. 

In addition, appointees will be required to deliver consultant clinical duties to support the clinical service at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and will play a prominent role in shaping and developing the future of these services.
