Lecturer (Medical Education (CQMU), Teaching / Assessment Focussed)
University of Leicester

This is an exciting new teaching focused lecturer role to work across Leicester Medical School (LMS), our School of Biological Sciences and Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) to deliver our new Joint Educational Programme of Bachelors in Clinical Sciences (as part of a clinical medical degree in CQMU). You will lead the assessment delivery for our Bachelors in Clinical Sciences as delivered locally in Leicester, but also in Chongqing. You will work very closely with our Phase 1 (pre-clinical) assessment lead in LMS as your assessment will draw heavily on those delivered to our Phase 1 medical students.
Our Bachelors in Clinical Sciences degree is a brand new degree based largely on our Phase 1 medical curriculum over year 1-2, and completed with bespoke clinically orientated units and a literature based project in year 3, all in association with our School of Biological Sciences and CQMU partners as part of a Joint Educational Programme with CQMU.
As a lecturer within this programme, whilst your focus will be on assessment you will also be an excellent teacher and act as one of our ‘flying faculty’, visiting CQMU annually for up to 4 weeks to support assessment, and delivery of one of the BSc Clin Sci Units in your area of interest and expertise. You will have a PhD (Basic Medical/Biological Sciences) OR Medical Degree with evidence of post-graduate scholarship.
