This part time (20% FTE) post is available immediately on a permanent basis.

The role

The post will support the teaching and assessment of clinical and communication skills, to Year 1 undergraduate medical students.

 

The post will include delivery of predesigned sessions following the BMBS time table. You will use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students. You will participate in and develop external networks, for example to contribute to student recruitment, facilitate outreach work, or build relationships for future activities.

 

You will: 

-       Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by registration with GMC/NMC or equivalent in health care to develop teaching programmes, teach and support learning in this academic area

-       Have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching

-       Ideally you will maintain a clinical post in addition to this teaching post, keeping them as current as possible with the changing nature of healthcare and clinical procedures

 

Staff at this level may wish to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.

The starting salary will be from £35,211 (pro rata) on Grade F depending on qualifications and experience.
