Academic Clinical Lecturer in Dementia Neurology

This post of Academic Clinical Lecturer in Dementia Neurology is a NIHR IAT competition theme (dementia) funded post awarded to the University of Bristol and HEE Severn partnership. The programme will provide up to four years (either full time or part time) post-doctoral training for a neurology trainee (post research doctorate) seeking to consolidate their career in dementia neurology and begin to establish themselves as an independent researcher. The successful applicant will split their time 50:50 between clinical training (Neurology Department, North Bristol Trust) and academic work (Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS)).

The post holder will be offered opportunities to build on existing research such as the Dementia Research Institute/MRC-funded project Continuous Behavioural Biomarkers of Cognitive Impairment (CUBOID) which is developing home monitoring for detection and disease tracking in dementia; the ReMemBr group on early diagnosis of dementia using neuropsychology tests and MRI; on-going epidemiological research on cognitive decline and dementia using Mendelian Randomization approaches with the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (IEU). 

The post holder may also be asked to contribute to the post graduate and undergraduate teaching including the new MB21 medical curriculum.
