Background

The Medical Schools Council is the representative body for all UK medical schools. To share best practice, medical school staff work cooperatively across domains including selection, education, fitness to practise and assessment.  

The MSC Assessment Alliance comprises of assessment leads from UK medical schools and aims to advance the future of undergraduate assessment by: 

  • developing high-quality assessments that enhance students’ learning experiences 
  • fostering collaboration to share knowledge and improve practices 
We are seeking experienced medical educators and standard setters to join the MLA Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) Standard Setting Panels. Panel Members help ensure the quality, validity and fairness of the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT). They review assessment items, consider their level of difficulty in relation to the expected standard of a newly qualified doctor entering the UK Foundation Programme, and contribute to the standards applied within this national licensing assessment.
 
We welcome applications from clinicians with expertise in undergraduate medical education, assessment, and standard setting. Appointments are for a four-year term, with panel meetings held annually and mandatory training provided
