Medical Licensing Assessment

The Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) is a two-part assessment made up of an Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) and a Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA). The MLA will test the core knowledge, skills and behaviours of doctors who want to practise in the UK. For UK medical students, the assessment will be administered by your medical school.

Developing the assessment

The development and delivery of the Medical School Applied Knowledge Test (MS AKT) is overseen by the MS AKT Board, which includes membership from the heads of all UK medical schools. This section covers the roles of each AKT operational group and the MLA Content Map.
