Students begin their training with three years of ‘pre-clinical’ work, involving study of the basic medical sciences. In Year 3 you will be able to specialise in one of a wide range of other subjects. You might see this referred to as intercalation, to qualify for the BA degree.
This is followed by the ‘clinical’ course, lasting three years, during which you will work in hospital wards under the supervision of consultants.
My Cambridge Application is an additional form that you need to complete if you’re applying to study an undergraduate degree at Cambridge.

Clinical work experience is not mandatory. We would want to see that candidates have a good understanding of the role of the medic, and a realistic and informed view of what the profession entails. Work experience is a great way to gain this. Work experience is strongly advised but is not a requirement for a Cambridge Medicine application.

We will use results as part of our selection for interview and when making offers. We will consider your results alongside all the other information we know about you.
