Widening participation

At Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), we are committed to inspiring future healthcare professionals by raising aspirations, supporting young people’s choices and encouraging progression into medicine or health related careers.

We operate a unique “contextualise everyone” policy for all school leaver applicants, in which your most recent achieved grades are compared to the average for your school (where you sat exams). We do not use residential postcode, free school meals status, or any self reported criterion in selection. Because our standard conditional offer AAB is the same as most schools’ contextual offer, we do not make even lower contextual offers.

Applicants are divided into five groups, which have different procedures applicable.
