Academic requirements

Degree (graduates only)

2:1 or above in a subject cognate to Medicine or a Merit in a Master’s degree in a subject cognate to Medicine.

A Levels

AAA-AAB including a grade A in Biology or Chemistry, grade A in a second science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Maths) and grade A/B in a third subject (excluding General Studies/Critical Thinking).

Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers

AAA-AAB including a grade A in Biology or Chemistry, grade A in a second science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Maths) and grade A/B in a third subject (excluding General Studies/Critical Thinking).

International Baccalaureate

36 overall including 6 and 5 at HL in Biology OR Chemistry and one of Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Maths.

GCSEs

All applicants must have a minimum 5 GCSE’s at grade B/6 including grade B/5 in Maths, and BB/66 in a minimum of 2 of the following subjects: Double Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

Predicted grades are considered alongside a full application and UCAT/GAMSAT score when determining an applicants suitability for invitation to interview.

Resit policy

We will consider applicants who have retaken their A-Level and equivalent qualifications.

Clinical work experience is not mandatory. 

Personal statement

Personal statements and references are checked and used as one component in selection for interview.

Admission test

UCAT and GAMSAT accepted.
