The Medical Schools Council has responded to the Review of the Clinical Excellence Award Scheme. We believe that the removal of national clinical excellence awards would, at a stroke, destroy the future clinical leadership of the UK and inflict potentially terminal damage upon both the provision of cutting edge patient care and upon the UK’s health economy.
