NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) – Wessex Institute, Faculty of Medicine
Full Time (Applications for part time, job share or secondments will be considered)
The NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) is part of the Wessex Institute, an enterprise unit in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton. The Wessex Institute hosts four nationally important, internationally recognised units of which NETSCC is the largest contract held. It is located on the University of Southampton Science Park, Chilworth.
This Consultant Advisor post is a senior post with a high level of responsibility. The planned responsibilities of the post lie largely within the NIHR research programmes that NETSCC manages, providing clinical and public health medicine leadership to the identification, prioritisation and funding of important health and social care research questions, and supporting the delivery of funded studies. These responsibilities are likely to be focussed on health services research and social care research but with opportunities for working across all research programmes managed.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Consultant in Public Health Medicine with the necessary medical and public health medicine knowledge, skills and expertise. Applicants must be highly motivated and strongly committed to public health principles, who can be flexible and adaptable, who can work as part of a team and also able to work effectively under their own initiative.
The successful candidate will work extensively in collaboration with partners and stakeholders within and outside of the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to NIHR Research Programmes.
For further information or an informal discussion about the post, please contact Dr Martin Ashton-Key, Scientific Director & Consultant in Public Health Medicine, on 02380 597346 (direct dial).
