Professor/Honorary Consultant in Diabetes

The University of Leicester is seeking a high calibre Clinical Academic with a research profile of national/international standing to conduct and disseminate high quality research in the field of Diabetes Medicine particularly in the field of Type 1 Diabetes and Technology. They will be expected to collaborate with and supervise others in producing innovative research with a major influence on the discipline and making a significant contribution to the College's research and teaching strategies. The appointee will join the Leicester Diabetes Research Centre, based at Leicester General Hospital.
You will be a contributor to the University’s REF return, or equivalent; be a significant generator of research income and supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate researchers.
In addition you will be required to undertake consultant duties to support the Diabetes Service at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and have the opportunity to take a leading role in the Type 1 Clinical Service. Finally you will play a prominent role in shaping and developing the future of these services.
