Associate Professor/Honorary Consultant in Gastroenterology

Following the launch of the new University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group (https://le.ac.uk/news/2021/july/northamptonshire-hospitals), we are seeking a high calibre clinician scientist, possessing full GMC registration and a licence to practice in Gastroenterology to undertake academic and clinical delivery (5 PAs academic and 5 PAs clinical).
Applicants should have a high quality research profile and will further build their strong research and publication profiles, both nationally and internationally, to enhance impact activity and contribute to the improvement of the lives of patients. Appointees will collaborate with and supervise others in producing innovative research with a major influence on the discipline and making a significant contribution to the College's research and teaching strategies. Appointees will be contributors to the University’s REF return, or equivalent; be a significant generator of research income and supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate researchers.
In addition, appointees will be required to deliver consultant clinical duties to support the clinical service at University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group (Kettering) and will play a prominent role in shaping and developing the future of these services. A new Academic Strategy is in place supporting our academic ambitions for the future and our partnership with University of Leicester.
