Associate Professor in Vascular Surgery/Honorary Consultant

As an Associate Professor you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians who have been brought together to develop a programme of high quality research programme focused on clinical trials in Vascular Surgery. You will contribute to engagement or enterprise activities in support of your own agenda of work and that of the Department. The group has a national and international reputation in translational research, and combines clinicians from University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trusthttp://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/ and clinicians and scientists within the University of Leicester.
You will also deliver a clinical surgical service for UHL as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The clinical sessions will be negotiated to take into account the research interest of the appointee, but are expected to include a mixture of in-patient, out-patients and surgical sessions.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the appointee will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking and appropriate clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.
