Clinical Research Fellowships (Candlelighters)
University of Leeds
Are you medically qualified and ambitious with an interest in full time cancer research with relevance to malignant disorders in children and young people? Do you have experience of working in paediatric/TYA cancer related disciplines (paediatric, medical and clinical oncology, surgery, pathology and others)? Do you want to further your career by undertaking a PhD/MD in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
You will support and undertake research in areas of relevance to children and young people with cancer. Your research will focus on paediatric/teenage and young adult oncology or malignant haematology, with a view to you becoming a leader in your field. You will be expected to participate in a structured clinical research training programme, supported by a scientific and a clinical supervisor.
During your employment you will also work towards a PhD or MD at the University of Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity if you are a clinician, especially if you are committed to an academic career relevant to paediatric/teenage and young adult oncology or malignant haematology. You will be medically qualified, GMC registered and should preferably be a Member/Fellow of a UK Royal College.
A portfolio of potential projects is available and interested candidates should email Linda Roberts, l.roberts@leeds.ac.uk for these. The successful candidates will be able to choose which project they would like to do.
