This post is for four years, or to the award of CCT with potential for an additional grace period of six months, whichever is reached soonest.

 

£32,569 to £56,394 per annum (Pre 2009 scale)

£33,127 to £58,593 per annum (Post 2009 scale)

 

The Norwich Medical School at University of East Anglia (UEA) is pleased to offer a Clinical Lectureship in Haematology, which will include an honorary appointment for clinical training with the Department of Haematology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust (NNUH). This Clinical Lecturer post attracts an academic NTN in Haematology with the East of England Deanery.

 

You will be jointly based on a single site in the Department of Haematology of the NNUH and Norwich Medical School within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the UEA. There will be 5 sessions per week protected time for your research activities. The NNUH provides a broad breadth of exposure to clinical haematology (including a JACIE accredited autologous stem cell transplantation programme, level 3 BCSH oncology care, CPA accredited regional diagnostics laboratory and haemophilia centre) and a well-established clinical training programme.

 

You will have a wide scope for developing your specific research interest and will be strongly supported through academic mentoring and training. The Norwich Medical School has an established and internationally-recognised scientific research group (1 x Professor, 1 x Post-doc, 4 x PhD students, 1 x Academic Clinical Fellow, 2 x Masters students) covering specific projects in acute myeloid leukaemia, myeloma and haematopoiesis, with a particular focus on the bone marrow microenvironment. The Academic Haematology Department’s work includes existing collaborations with the on-site sequencing center (Earlham Institute) and international groups in Europe, US and Australasia.

 

Applications are invited from specialist trainees at ST4 level or above who have already completed, or are currently submitting, a higher research degree (PhD/MD or equivalent) in a relevant subject area or a MB PhD programme, and can demonstrate potential for development as a Clinical Academic.
