Medical schools look forward to their role in Life Sciences Industrial Strategy

31.08.17

The publication of Sir John Bell’s Life Sciences Industrial Strategy has strong support from medical schools.

The strategy outlines the importance of increasing the power and output of the UK life sciences sector by deepening collaboration between industry, the health service, research bodies and others. Universities play a significant role in this, in large part through their medical schools.

Many medical schools staff, including clinical academics, work as researchers both on campus and in NHS Trusts. Their expertise and position as points of crossover between the health and higher education sectors makes them essential to the initiatives put forward in the strategy.

Medical schools look forward to working with their partners in university hospital Trusts to take this strategy forward.
