The Medical Schools Council has responded to the NHS Medical Education England Review of the Impact of the European Working Time Directive (EWTD) on the Quality of Postgraduate Training. The Medical Schools Council recognises that there has been some negative impact since the implementation of EWTD but that it is too soon to see the extent of this. Medical schools and Trusts are finding ways to ensure the quality of medical education and training.
